JANIS from Life According to Jan and Jer says this, "Since Next Tuesday is Veterans Day, I thought it would be nice to salute our Veterans and show our appreciation. Photo requirement of something patriotic."
OK, well you can't get much patriotic-er than the very FIRST Veteran's Day.... I give you the Civil War Veterans!

That time period is so fascinating to me! I like the picture. Thanks!
This is indeed a very interesting time in our history. I used to live in Virginia, and the town I lived in had a lot of Civil War history. It was striking and sobering to stand on those historic battlefields, all green and beautiful now, and think about what happened there. Thanks Lala, very thought-provoking!
Amazing...awesome photo. [Looks like Custer in front]
Mine's posted...scroll down to the last of my Monday blog. See you there.
great picture!!
You made a statement with that Photo. What a bloody war that one was and on our turf. We live just 14 miles from the Gettysburg battle field, this area is rich in Civil war history. Thanks for sharing and God Bless
Well thanks for setting up a dilemma for me--I'm from the border state of KY and birthplace of Lincoln. Have no idea whether my family was Confederate or Union. Would like to think Union and suspect that's so because we were poor mountain stock--not from the flat land that had more southern leanings. Do you know your Civil War roots?
That is a wonderful photo.
Well a diffrent take on the day but thanks for shering.
That's an old picture for sure! I remember being a kid and on the news came the report that the last Civil War Veteran had died. I didn't understand what the big fuss was about. Soon, we'll be hearing about the last WW veterans being gone.
I don't know what to say, but they look quite funny !
Wow! What a fascinating pciture!
Well, what about the Revolutionary War? :D Just kidding! I like to visit Civil War battlefields around our area.
I love the picture!
I'm back another day....just popping in to say thanks for the visit!!!
Hope your Tuesday is treating you well.
Aren't they a rugged crew? What a horrible war that was.
Wow! Family photo? That is a great picture!
