Fun Monday - My Day

The Fun Monday hostess for Monday October 20th is Sarah, from Sarah's Blog, who's Latin tag line seems to say Manure, manure, manure... I'm going to die. Huh? Sarah, is there a story behind this? Some deep existential meaning? A simple explanation? Oh well...

Sarah says this:
"I would like you to take your camera (or your artistic talents!) on a day tour with you. I want to know where you go, what you get up to on a “normal” day (disclaimer - it doesn’t have to be “normal”!)All the details you would consider boring! You are free to make your Fun Monday posts as long or as short as you’d like!"

Well Sarah, this is Sunday and here's what usually happens on Sundays in Lala Land:

Even when the alarm is off, the canine clock continues....
It starts with a cold nose and some sniffing sounds, then progresses to a sort of grunting noise, rather like a monkey. If I haven't responded by then, it's two paws up on the bed and the licking begins. There is no sleeping in with these dogs on duty - even on the weekend!
Chako and Zoey lead me downstairs to their food.

Chako gets a little bit extra from a can because underneath all that hair, he's skin and bones!

Zoey has to eat downstairs separately because she gets a measured amount since she tends to gain weight when we don't watch what she eats.

Oh, the Sunday paper is here!

Time for a cup of coffee

With my favorite Casablanca mug

and French Vanilla Coffee Mate

Its a good thing the dogs got me up - I might have missed CBS Sunday Morning! What is Sunday without Charles Kurault?

Coffee and the paper

Now that everyone else is up the birds want to get a little exercise too
And now a nice bowl of Cheerios for me

don't forget to brush my teeth

a quick check of email

Well, I've been putting it off for long enough, Ugh... laundry

At least I can watch TV on the big screen while I iron!

Jeez, is it lunchtime already? My how time flies when you're having fun!

A lovely grilled swiss cheese on rye with jalapeno jelly and apple slices- just for me!

Laundry folded and ready to put away

Now it's time to go to the grocery store. Can't forget my list (written on my old Realtor notepads)

Sun Mart!

Can't forget the reusable shopping bags

Sometimes three bags just isn't enough!

Here's our lovely fall/harvest decor. The golden leaves were Mother Natures addition!

Jarrod helps to carry in the groceries - What a good boy!

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn - a typical Midwestern Sunday dinner

Dinner at the table, what a nice way to end the day....

Hmmmmmmmm, maybe Bud should feed ME in another room. I'm like Zoey...I tend to gain weight too. [kidding!]
No, guess not...seriously. I think maybe my own food should be measured now.

But wait...I see an iron?!!! Oh my. IN our house iron is literally a FOUR LETTER word.

Loved reading your normal day Fun Monday...mine's shared, come on over.

I think we're soul mates ! So much of what I saw here could have come from a page out of my life...
I have a canine alarm clock that scratches on my bedroom door. Then it's breakfast for them, SEPARATELY, because June Bug eats Bubba's if we don't watch. While all that's happening the aroma of fresh brewed coffee fills the air. You cabinet with coffee mugs below and other accoutrements above is EXACTLY like mine. (I don't use CoffeeMate. I use Half and Half. Sweet coffee gags me.) I, too have a favorite mug. The NASA one my daughter gave me when she worked there. The Sunday Morning news shows are on all morning. Kuralt for sure. Then I go scrap my tongue and teeth, sit and watch my birds, chippymunks, rabbits, and whatever else wanders into the yard. There are reports of a mountain lion roaming the neighborhood. YKIES ! Breakfast is next...from there, I'll not bore you anymore, but just know that is consists of many of the "chores" you described in your post.
Thanks for coming by and lurking. You're welcome to do so anytime.

I'll be back.
My word verification was:
xhaikbrf

What the heck is that? I'd rather have frenchfries.

I want your meatloaf recipe!!! That looks so good it made my mouth water at 9:50 in the morning!

I feed one dog in and one out - one is a VERY large puppy and he will eat everything, including the other dog's breakfast. Doofy dogs...

Sounds like a lovely day!

Yes! We have the same alarm clock, I see, only you got the Canine version (vs. my Feline version). Beautiful doggies and birds! *sniff* I want a dog *whine* I have a refrigerator magnet that says "There is no Snooze button on the cat that wants breakfast"! And that dinner looks yummy! Thanks for the tour of your day!

WOW! You did a GREAT job - lots of photos! And I did laundry while watching football on the big screen.

Though I totally cheated on my post.

Thanks so much for sharing your day with us :) Looks lovely - I do like the autumn/fall colours. Outside my office window the leaves are all but gone from the three trees out there.

The meal you prepared sounds lovely - I can't remember the last time I had meatloaf!

The quote from my blog is from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. It's an exclamation of terror (and I'm sure you can substitute the "manure") from a Wizard running away from something huge. My hubby put it up there when he created my blog and I a)don't know how to change it and b)can't think of anything intelligent to change it to! A further explanation of Terry Pratchett's bad latin can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latatian#Latatian

Where do I start in my comment! Such an enjoyable post and lovely photos. Watching that TV screen must seem like being at the movies-how fantastic.
BTW I too love the look of your meatloaf. A family meal is the perfect way to end a busy day.
